This notice explains what this website collects, why, who can see it, and how long we keep it. "The campaign," "we" and "us" mean Tobias for Rappahannock CA, the campaign committee for Amy Tobias for Commonwealth's Attorney of Rappahannock County, Virginia.
Who is responsible. The campaign decides how your information is used. Holler Software LLC, 66 Yancey Road, Woodville, VA 22749, builds and hosts this website for the campaign. Holler stores your information only to run this site. Holler never adds it to a Holler mailing or customer list, or uses it for its own purposes.
When you RSVP. We ask for your name, email address, how many people are coming, and, if you choose, a phone number. We use this to hold your spot, plan the event, and email you a confirmation with the event details and a calendar file. The campaign will use your phone number only to reach you about the event, for example if the time or place changes. This site does not send text messages.
The email checkbox. A separate checkbox asks if the campaign may email you about the campaign. It starts unchecked, and you can RSVP without it. We record whether you checked it and which wording you saw. If you do not check it, we use your email only for this event, such as your confirmation and any important change to the event. If you check it and later change your mind, tell us and we will stop.
If you RSVP again with the same email, we keep your first RSVP and send a note that you are already registered. To change or cancel an RSVP, contact the campaign.
When you contribute. Online contributions will open later. To meet Virginia's reporting law, we will then ask for the amount, your full name, mailing address, email address, occupation, and your employer's name and city and state (or your own business, if you work for yourself). A phone number will be optional. You will also confirm some statements, such as that the money is your own. We record which ones you confirmed and which version you saw.
Card payments will go through Stripe, on the campaign's own Stripe account. You enter card details on Stripe's secure page, so the campaign and Holler never receive your full card number. Stripe handles payment details under its own privacy policy. Holler takes no fee from contributions.
Contributions are reported to the public. The campaign must report contributions to Virginia election officials. If your contributions add up to more than $100, the reports will list your name, mailing address, occupation, employer and its city and state, and the amount and date of each contribution. These reports are public records. Anyone may inspect them, and they may be posted online. People who give $100 or less in total are reported only in a combined count and total, without names.
Unfinished contributions. If you start a contribution but do not finish paying, what you typed is still saved. After 30 days we erase your name, address, email, phone, occupation and employer from it, keeping only the amount, your state and Stripe's reference numbers. This clean-up is run by hand, so it may happen some days late.
Bot protection. The RSVP and contribution forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that looks at your browser for signs of automated spam. Cloudflare handles that information under its own privacy policy. When you send a form, your IP address is passed to our server, to limit repeated submissions, and to Cloudflare for this check. We do not save your IP address with your RSVP or contribution. Our hosting companies may keep standard technical logs, which can include IP addresses.
No tracking, no sale. This site does not use analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels. The campaign does not sell your information. We share it only as this notice describes.
Who can see your information. Campaign staff who sign in with their own accounts can see and download the RSVP list. Only campaign administrators can see and download contribution records. Every download is logged. Holler, as the host, can technically reach the stored records, but accesses them only to run, support or fix this site. The companies that help run this site are Holler Software LLC (hosting and support), Vercel (website hosting), Amazon Web Services (servers and email delivery), Neon (database), Cloudflare (bot protection) and, for contributions, Stripe (payments). We may also share information when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order.
Email problems. If an email to you bounces, or you mark it as spam, your address goes on a do-not-send list that Holler uses for all email it sends. You will then get no email through this site, and possibly none from other groups that use Holler.
How long we keep information. RSVPs are kept until they are deleted. This site does not delete them on a timer, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Completed contributions are part of the campaign's official financial records. We keep them as long as the campaign's reports and Virginia law require, so they cannot be deleted on request. Deleted information may stay in backup copies for a limited time.
Your choices. You can ask to see, fix or delete the RSVP information we hold about you, and you can withdraw your email permission at any time. For a contribution, we can fix a mistake, but we must keep the record. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children. This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes. If we change this notice, we will post the new version here with a new date at the top.
Contact. For questions or requests, contact the campaign. If you RSVP'd, you can also reply to your confirmation email. Replies go to the campaign.
